Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman known to stay in the Akron area who hasn’t been heard from since 2017.

In January 2017, Samantha Cook, 31, was charged with possessing a small amount of drugs after a stop by the Ohio Highway Patro. She failed to appear in court, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

In November 2017, Cook was reported missing by her family in Mentor.

The Mentor Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service have been investigating.

“Hopefully, if Ms. Cook sees this report herself, she will be encouraged to reach out to law enforcement or her family so that someone knows she is safe,” the news release states.

At the time she went missing, Cook did not have a permanent address but was staying in the Barberton and Akron areas. Cook also frequented locations in Wadsworth, Rittman and Canton.

Cook is 5 feet 5 inches and 150 pounds with red hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about her is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals at 866-4WANTED or text keyword WANTED and tip to TIP411 (847411). Tipsters can remain anonymous. Reward money is available.
