The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to the capture of fugitive Jamar Franklin who is wanted by Summit County authorities.

Franklin, 23, is wanted by Akron police for felonious assault, Summit County Sheriff’s Office for weapons under disability and carrying a concealed weapon, and Copley Township police for weapons possession and fleeing.

Authorities accused Franklin of leading Copley police on a chase Dec. 30 that involved him crashing his vehicle and fleeing on foot. He also has been pursued several times by Akron police " over the past month leading to several crashed police cruisers," the task force said.

Franklin was described as a black male, about 5-foot-10 and 176 pounds. His last known address is near the 700 block of Lucille Avenue in Akron. He is also known to frequent the Kenmore neighborhood, near the 800 block of Wilbeth Road.

He is believed to be operating a stolen gray Ford Fusion with damage and an unknown Ohio license plate. Franklin should be considered armed and dangerous.
