An Akron man accused of raping an elderly woman in December was arrested Monday in an abandoned apartment.

According to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jesse Williams II, 33, after they found him hiding in the abandoned apartment on Brittain Road.

Williams was wanted by Akron police on several charges including rape, gross sexual imposition and kidnapping.

According to police reports, around 2:30 a.m. Dec. 3, Williams forced his way into an Alphada Place apartment on and robbed and raped an elderly woman.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Williams was named the suspect through DNA identification, and a warrant was issued for his arrest Friday.

Williams was to be booked into the Summit County Jail.
