SOLON — Food company Stouffer's is giving away free meals to furloughed government employees in the Cleveland area.

"Stouffer's has been a part of the Cleveland community since 1924," the company said in a Facebook post. "During this difficult time caused by the shutdown, we want to support you like you have supported us."

The company said the workers can visit its Solon campus, 30003 Bainbridge Road, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday "to pick up a Stouffer's meal on us."

Meals will be available while supplies last and a federal government ID is required, the company said.

The partial government shutdown, which began Dec. 22, is the longest in U.S. history. An estimated 800,000 federal workers have been affected.
