Two people were hit by bullets after guns were fired into three Akron homes Friday and Saturday, city police report.
In the first incident, a 37-year-old man reported his jacket was struck by a bullet after he opened his front door Friday night in the 800 block of Bisson Avenue. The man said he heard a knock on his front door, opened it and then heard gunshots; soon after he saw his jacket had been struck.
The man was uninjured while the house was hit several times, Akron police said.
Then at 10 p.m. Friday, police said they went to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.
Police said a 44-year-old man told them he was walking to his vehicle parked in the 900 block of Bye Street when an unknown person fired several shots at him. The man was struck in the left buttocks and taken by an acquaintance to the hospital.
Then shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call that someone fired a gun into a home in the 1000 block of Seward Avenue. A 49-year-old man at the house said he was in the basement when someone fired several shots at his house, breaking a front window. The shooter was not identified.
The shooting incidents do not appear to be related, police said.
