KENT — The Kent Fire Department performed two water rescues on Thursday.

The first rescue occurred at 7 a.m., according to the fire department’s Facebook page. Firefighters helped someone who drove their car into flooded water on Dawley Road. The person was assisted with a boat and is fine.

 

Two dogs were saved during the second rescue. They were stuck on an island in the middle of Lake Rockwell. According to the department’s social media post, the dogs were cold, tired and hungry. Firefighters were able, however, able to help them to safety.

The dogs have been taken to the county dog warren, according to Kent Fire Captain Rich Lynn. The dogs did not appear to have any injuries.
