Dude. Yellow Springs Brewery will debut Bush League Psych-Out Coffee Milk Stout on Feb. 10 as part of a "Beer + Movie" gathering at the Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs.
If you can't tell from the Dude reference, the theater is showing "The Big Lebowski," the 1998 cult classic from the Coen brothers starring Jeff Bridges and John Goodman.
Beer + Movie will feature a beer tasting with Yellow Springs from 2 to 3 p.m. and the film at 3 p.m. The brewery will have at least four beers available, including Bush League. The name is a reference to a line from the film.
Bush League, which is 7.1 percent alcohol by volume, was made in collaboration with the Little Art Theatre to help kick off its yearlong 90/40/10 anniversary. The theater has been around for 90 years, with Jenny Copperthwaite serving as director for 40. It's also the 10-year anniversary as a nonprofit.
In addition to the beer, the event will feature trivia, raffles and a food truck. Tickets are $25 and will include five beer samples. The doors will open at 1 p.m.
Bush League will be distributed in the Dayton market beginning Feb. 11. It will be available on draft only.
"Like the Coen brother’s dark comedies that are tinged with a character sweetness, Bush League Psych-Out rolls a perfect strike with huge coffee, dark caramel and a nutty-roasted character that finishes dry, yet with a silky mouthfeel," the brewery said in a release. "The flavor is a delectable roasted coffee that comes from the addition of coffee beans roasted by Yellow Springs Brewery’s own John Hainey. The mild bitterness of the light roasted coffee is mellowed out brilliantly with the addition of lactose (milk sugar) which creates the effect of a White Russian’s subtle sweetness and creaminess."
