Christopher Richardson, CEO of AxessPointe Community Health Centers and a member of the Torchbearers Class of 2011, received the Distinguished Alumni Award for assisting young leaders in realizing their full leadership potential.

William H. Considine, CEO Emeritus of Akron Children's Hospital, was presented with the Read Family Friend of Young Leaders Award.

Torchbearers Akron was founded in 2003 to strengthen the connection between Akron-area nonprofits and emerging leaders, as well as to further efforts to attract and retain emerging leaders to the area. The organization is a bridge between established leadership of the community and leaders of the future.
