HUDSON — City Council has unanimously approved appointing Lisa Radigan to serve as the new Ward 2 council member.

Radigan, 38, will replace Casey Weinstein, who resigned from the post Dec. 31 after being elected to the Ohio House.

She will serve as the Ward 2 council member until the end of the term, which expires in December. She said she plans to run for election to the four-year seat in November.

“I know there were quite a few incredibly qualified and enthusiastic candidates and I’m certainly honored that the council chose me,” she said.

She said both infrastructure and green space connectivity will be important issues. Developing bike paths and sidewalks, Radigan said, is “incredibly important” to making the city a destination.

Radigan has lived in the city with her husband and two children for nearly five years. She is the chief ethics and compliance officer for Diebold Nixdorf Inc. in North Canton. Radigan earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio State University in 2003 and a law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, in 2007.
