News outlets reported Wednesday that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is asking for help to locate a missing 16-year-old girl last seen Dec. 31 in Akron.

The Ohio Attorney General’s website listing of missing children designates Daysha as an “endangered runaway.”

Daysha is black and is 5-foot-1, weighs 145 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, according to the website list.

Daysha's foster mother had filed at least two missing persons reports with Akron police concerning the teen. The woman reported the girl missing Dec. 17, but Daysha, who was a junior at Buchtel high school, returned home voluntarily four days later, according to the first report. On the day of the second report, the foster mother told police she last saw the teen getting into a car down the street from her house.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department at 330-375-2552, according to the website. Anyone with information also can call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-THE-LOST.
