Police on Friday arrested a 14-year-old boy for inducing panic after he threatened fellow students and Norton Middle School.

It's unclear what alerted police to the boy, but detectives discovered his Instagram account featured a photo of "an assault style rifle," police said in a brief press release.

"Several students reported they were threatened with violence from the firearm observed in the photo," police said.

Police did not say whether the boy had access to a weapon pictured on his Instagram or what threats he made against the school.

The boy was taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
