MadCap Brew Co. is looking to redesign its taproom.

The Kent brewery launched a Kickstarter campaign last week, hoping to raise $20,000 toward an overhaul of its tasting room. Think of it as a major interior redesign.

"What we're trying to do is improve the overall taproom experience," MadCap co-founder Ryan Holmes said.

MadCap wants to build a new bar with seating (the current bar has no seating) and install some high-top tables with chairs. The taproom is now filled with wooden picnic tables, which won't go away but will be spread out into other areas of the tasting room, Holmes said.

The brewery also plans to buy a Crowler machine and expand its barrel-aging program.

As of Tuesday morning, the brewery had raised $651 toward its goal. The brewery is offering a variety of incentives for donating, including a private party for 10 people for a contribution of $500 and becoming a brewer for a day for $1,000. People can permanently name a brite tank or fermenter for $2,000.

Holmes said he'd like the renovations to be completed by the end of the year.
