Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. is putting a little banana twist on its Strawberry Pig.

The Cincinnati brewery has mixed its Strawberry Pig cream ale with its Se7en Hefeweizen and ... voila ... Strawberry Banana Pig. Christian Moerlein has lovingly dubbed the limited-release creation a "Piggyweizen."

The brewery will release the beer at its Malt House Taproom on draft and in six-packs of 12-ounce cans starting at 4 p.m. Friday. (March 22) The beer also will hit retail shops Monday. It will retail for $9.99 a six-pack.

Strawberry Banana Pig clocks in at 4.7 percent alcohol by volume.

Christian Moerlein brews up a small batch of Strawberry Pig each spring to honor Cincinnati's historical nickname "Porkopolis," which refers to the community's reputation for pork production in the 1800s.
