GREEN — The city has received the 2018 Outstanding Highway Project Award — Under $5 million from the American Society of Highway Engineers, Cuyahoga Valley Section, for the Pickle Road/state Route 619 roundabout.

The award is shared with the designer of the project American Structurepoint, Inc. and the contractor Karvo Companies. The roundabout was selected from projects costing less than $5 million and completed last year throughout a 21-county area of Northeast Ohio.

“We are particularly pleased with the overwhelming positive response to this new roundabout and how efficiently it moves traffic,” Mayor Gerard Neugebauer said in a prepared statement. “Our design team and contractor along with our city Engineer Paul Pickett and his staff did an excellent job and are certainly deserving of this recognition by their peers.”

The Pickle Road/Route 619 roundabout was completed in November 2018 and is the third roundabout in the city.
