Crashes in the greater Akron area have slowed Monday's frosty morning commute in places.

There was a vehicle crash reported at 8:45 a.m. on US-224 westbound at Hilbish Avenue near Lakemore.

A crash shortly about 8:10 on I-77 North at state Route 18 in Fairlawn backed up traffic to state Route 21.

The northbound lane of Interstate 77 between state Route 162 and Ridgewood has reopened after an early morning crash closed the right two lanes and backed up traffic.

Another crash on I-76 East at Tallmadge Road in Portage County about 7 a.m. also slowed traffic.

ODOT also reported after 8 a.m. that I-480 westbound in Macedonia reopened after clearing a crash on the on-ramp to I-271 northbound. Traffic was moving slowly.

Ongoing road construction and early morning glare are also slowing traffic throughout the region. ODOT was also warning that weather conditions could make roads icy and slippery in spots.
