Christmas spirit

Christmas may be months away, but there's a chance to catch the spirit at this week's Movies@Main. “The Grinch” will be shown for free at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Main Library in downtown Akron. The latest incarnation of the Grinch features the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch.

 

Baked goods

There will be a No Muffin Left Behind sale beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. The sale will feature Main Street Gourmet's slightly off-spec products at $1.25 per pound. Some proceeds from the sale of cookie dough, muffin batter, granola, brownies and other items will benefit the food bank.

 

Disney music

The Summit Mall will host a Play Up the Music Disney Jr. Play Date from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be sing-alongs, crafts and an amazing balloon artist.

 

Rev the motor

The WONE Motorcycle Swap Meet will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge. Admission is $5, with kids ages 12 and under free.

 

Easter keg

The third annual Easter Keg Hunt will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Akron's Lock 3. Teams of up to six people (ages 21 and up) will receive a swag bag with goodies from businesses around Akron and will be able to choose something from the Easter Keg Hunt menu at each location. Amusing tribute

The I-X Center Amusement Park will host a salute to real-life and fictional superheroes with appearances by Spider-Man, Superman, Batman and Captain America on Sunday. The park will also offer free admission Sunday to active members of the military and fire, police and safety personnel (with valid ID).
