Potter-inspired film

Movies@Main at the Main Library in downtown Akron will feature "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Newt and Albus confront the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. The free movie stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

 

Egg splendor

The Elegant Egg & More show will be Saturday and Sunday. It's the Ohio Egg Artists Guild's 47th spring show and sale. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of the Elms, 1375 W. Exchange St., Akron. Admission is $5, $2.50 ages 12 to 17 and free for 11 or younger. 

 

Kids at heart

There will be an Adults Only Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Eggs with candy and gift cards and other prizes will be scattered throughout the Water Works Park grounds in Cuyahoga Falls. One golden egg will be hidden for a gift basket. A $25 donation includes the egg hunt and treats. The event will be rain or shine. Sweet music

The BassoonaRoo recital will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Guzzetta Recital Hall at the University of Akron. Admission is free.

 

Derby time

The Akron Roller Derby will be in action Saturday at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first whistle is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12. For more, visit www.akronrollerderby.net.

 

Go fish

There will be a trout derby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday for anglers 15 or younger at Little Turtle Pond, 2400 Harrington Road, Akron. Some rods and reels will be available for use during the derby. The event is sponsored by the Goodyear Hunting & Fishing Club, Ohio Division of Wildlife and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
