BRUNSWICK — A man and his dog were killed in a fire Monday night at a house on Grafton Road, Beacon Journal/Ohio.com news partner News 5 Cleveland reports.
The fire, which was in the living room, was small but the elderly man, who has not been identified, couldn't escape, city Fire Chief Joshua Erskine told the television station.
"The byproducts of combustion, smoke is extremely harmful, that can very well be the case here that he was overcome by smoke," he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
