A Cincinnati-based craft brewery plans to open a location this fall in Franklinton.
Taft’s Brewing Co. is the latest tenant to commit to Gravity, a $70-million, six-story development at 500 W. Broad St.
The 5,800-square-foot Brewpourium hopes to open along Broad Street in November, Taft’s first location outside the Queen City.
“We love that Franklinton is an up-and-coming area,” Taft’s Managing Partner David Kassling said in a news release. “And we love the neighborhood’s arts culture, which really fits the roots of our brand. We think it’s going to be a homerun.”
Taft’s beer includes Gavel Banger IPA and Nellie’s Key Lime Caribbean Ale. The brewery will also serve up New Haven-style thin-crust pizza. The Gravity location will have an outdoor patio, game room and a stage for music and comedy nights.
“Taft’s has really impressed us with what they’ve done in Cincinnati,” Gravity Founder Brett Kaufman said in a news release. “It’s a great brand with great values, great beer, and great pizza in a great environment.”
Gravity’s other tenants include Bark, Cova Cowork, Pelotonia and The Roosevelt Coffeehouse. Gravity’s first phase will have 234 apartments, 50,000 square feet of offices and 30,000 square feet of retail and restaurants. Residents and tenants will start moving in this spring.
Taft’s will be the third brewery to open a location in Franklinton, following Land-Grant and BrewDog. A spokeswoman said the Brewpourium will serve Taft's beer and pizza but there would not be brewing done on site.
