ROOTSTOWN TWP. — Northeast Ohio Medical University is giving away 200 free tree and shrub seedlings in recognition of Arbor Day.

The seedlings will include hemlock, white pine, red maple, white spruce, red oak and redosier dogwoods. Seedlings will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26 until out of stock in the atrium of the NEOMED Education and Wellness Center.

The event is first-come, first-served, with one free seedling per person. University employees also will plant several seedlings around campus.

NEOMED was recently designated with Tree Campus USA status by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its efforts to promote the growth and maintenance of healthy trees. This event is sponsored by the University’s Tree Campus USA committee.
