Jeffrey Heintz, a long-time attorney with Brouse McDowell, is the 2019 recipient of the Sir Thomas More Award.

Heintz was recognized at the annual Red Mass, recently held at St. Bernard's Church in Akron. The mass was part of the Akron Bar Association’s observance of Law Week.

Heintz, who lives in Silver Lake, graduated from the University of Akron law school in 1975 and joined Brouse McDowell in 1984. His practice includes corporate counseling, commercial transactions, real estate matters and title insurance issues, according to the firm’s website.

Heintz’s clients include Welty Building Company and Rohrer Corporation and he is counsel for the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Akron-Summit Convention and Visitors’ Bureau.

The Sir Thomas More Award has been presented annually since 1978 by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, in conjunction with the bar association. The award recognizes an attorney who exhibits concern for the community and provides service to promote justice and humanity.
