A 24-year-old man says he was robbed at gunpoint at 3 a.m. Wednesday in downtown Akron, police said.

The man said he was in the parking lot at the corner of East Exchange Street and South High Street when he was approached by a suspect asking for money. The suspect put a gun to the victim's side, police said.

The suspect took the victim’s iPhone and wallet containing cash and credit cards and then fled the area on foot, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, 5-foot-11, and weighing 175 to 190 pounds. He also had gray stubble facial hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans.
