Three people were shot Wednesday night in East Akron, and one is in a local hospital in critical condition.

Akron police responded to the area of Pardee Avenue and Sylvan Avenue after receiving reports of shots being fired. They found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm.

The victim reported that he was walking when a sport utility vehicle pulled up and started shooting. He was taken to a local hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.

Police also received an additional call about two more shooting victims.

A 37-year-old man was shot while driving on Sylvan near Pardee. His vehicle continued and hit a light pole in the 700 block of South Arlington Street. He was taken to a local hospital and was in critical condition.

A 36-year-old male passenger also was hit by a bullet and taken to a hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury. A 26-year-old female passenger wasn't hurt.
