A Lake Township man is not being charged after shooting an intruder during a home invasion early Saturday morning.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the shooting, which occurred at 7:32 a.m. Saturday in the St. James Allotment on St. Patrick Avenue Northwest, a housing subdivision in Lake Township.

Deputies arrived to find a 24-year-old man shot. Authorities described the incident as a "domestic-related ... home break in."

The shooting victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier said in a statement Saturday that "the general public has no reason to be concerned."

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 330-430-3800.
