COLUMBUS — A 22-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and abuse of an animal after a 7-week-old puppy was shot and killed.
On May 7, a woman called Columbus police and said that two people had come to her home to buy a pit bull puppy. They pulled guns and demanded money, the woman told police.
During the robbery, police said, the 16-year-old pistol-whipped the female victim, and 22-year-old Patrick Agee of the Near East Side is accused of dragging her through the home by her hair.
Cash and a gun were stolen. The teen is accused of shooting the puppy before leaving, police said.
The teen is charged with aggravated robbery, robbery, receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a gun, abuse of a companion animal and tampering with evidence. Agee is charged with aggravated robbery and could face other charges.
