A 29-year-old Green man was sentenced to life in prison this week for sexually assaulting a young boy whom he knew.

Dean Davis pleaded guilty Wednesday to rape, a first-degree felony; sexual battery, a second-degree felony; endangering children, a third-degree felony; and gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony.

Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones immediately sentenced Davis to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole after 10 years.

Summit County Sheriff’s deputies launched an investigation last April after they were made aware of an incident in which Davis sexually abused the boy.

Davis’ co-defendant, who is charged with obstructing justice, is scheduled to go on trial June 20.
