BRUNSWICK HILLS TWP. — A 55-year-old Hinckley man died after hitting a deer while driving a motorcycle Friday night.

Laurence Bogner was heading east on Grafton Road near North Carpenter about 8:30 p.m. when a deer ran or walked in front of him, the State Highway Patrol said.

Bogner, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his 2016 Harley Davidson.

Paramedics first took Bogner to the nearby Brunswick campus of the Cleveland Clinic, where he was then flown by helicopter to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center.

Bogner, who suffered head injuries, died there, troopers said.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was involved in the crash.

It was not clear what happened to the deer.
