Coventry Local Schools posted on its Facebook page Sunday that all schools in the district will be closed Monday because of a computer virus.
The district’s network and computers were infected by the "Trickbot" virus, according to the Facebook post by Superintendent Lisa Blough.
"Even though our district technology team has been working diligently to stop and fix the situation, the process is proving to be long and painstaking," she wrote.
Students were told not to attend because the district cannot guarantee that the necessary operating systems will be up and running by the start of school Monday.
Staff members must still report to school, Blough said, who added that she hopes the schools will reopen Tuesday.
Monday was supposed to be Coventry High School's traditional Senior Day, the last day of classes for graduating seniors. Officials posted on Facebook that seniors would not need to report to school Tuesday, "so, they are officially done with school for the year."
