The box office has a new king and his name is John Wick.

The third installment of the hyper-violent Keanu Reeves franchise has taken the top spot at the North American box office and ended the three-week reign of "Avengers: Endgame." Studios on Sunday said "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum" has grossed an estimated $57 million in its opening weekend.

"Avengers: Endgame" slid to second place in its fourth weekend with $29.4 million. Domestically, it's now second only to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Eurovision scolds Madonna

for Palestinian flag display

Eurovision Song Contest organizers said on Sunday they were taken aback by the display of a Palestinian flag during Madonna's guest appearance, which defied contest rules.

While Madonna performed her new single at the contest, hosted in Tel Aviv, two of her dancers onstage flashed Israeli and Palestinian flags pinned on their backs.

The European Broadcast Union, or EBU, said that Madonna had not cleared that part of the act with broadcasters and "was advised as to the non-political nature of the event."

Madonna later defended the stunt on Twitter, sharing a clip of the dancers and writing, "I am grateful for the opportunity to spread the message of peace and unity with the world."

Schwarzenegger kicked

at event in South Africa

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was assaulted during a public appearance in South Africa on Saturday, but the 71-year-old quickly recovered and said, "I'm just glad the idiot didn't interrupt my Snapchat."

Video shows the former California governor standing and filming children at a sporting event in Johannesburg when a man makes a flying kick into his back. Schwarzenegger stumbles forward. The man is quickly grabbed by security. Off camera a man shouts several times "Help me!"

The video shortly afterward shows Schwarzenegger smiling and shaking hands with bystanders before walking out ringed by security.
