Fibonacci Brewing Co. will host the first Mount Healthy farmers market of the season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. (June 2)

The farmers market will take place the same time the first Sunday each month through October.

“Mount Healthy is considered a food desert and we felt it was important to bring this to our community," brewery President and co-owner Betty Bollas said in a prepared statement. "We have been working with the We Thrive group for the last two years to make this project a reality. Next year our goal is to increase the number of sessions for the market and to be able to accept nutritional assistance vouchers.”

Some of the vendors will include: Mount Healthy Square Mile Coffee Co., Healthy Hills Farm, Old Dutch Hop Farm, Angie Tee's Kitchen, Tikkun Farm, Chesapeake Popcorn Co., Bloomin Donuts and Hilltop Glass Creations. Produces will include organic produce, fresh eggs, natural beef, chicken, lamb, maple syrup, goat milk soap, cheese, baked goods, herbs, flowers, kimchi, gourmet soups & salads, authentic Malaysian foods, jams, jellies, pickles and stained glass and fused glass items.

The brewery also will host the sixth annual Mount Healthy Plant Swap from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event is sponsored by the Mount Healthy Renaissance Project. The first hour is reserved for those who bring plants to share and the second hour is for those who would like plants for their yard or garden.
