Who knew a dish of ice cream could be so controversial?

LongHorn Steakhouse’s Steak & Bourbon Ice Cream, featuring bits of steak and swirls of bourbon caramel, caused quite a stir at my family's dinner table.

Full disclosure: I am a carnivore to my core, so I was very excited that the chain's Akron area restaurants would be serving up this limited time summer dessert item. My plant-loving daughters? Not so much.

The ice cream with steak swirled in it has a bit of a smoky taste and pairs nicely with the bourbon-infused caramel sauce. The steak sprinkles on top are a bonus. At a mere $3.99, it is a fun way to cap off a steak dinner and spur some lively discussion at the table, particularly among my non-meat eating offspring.
