JACKSON TWP. — Home decor retailer At Home has opened the doors of its new store.

The 91,472-square-foot store is the Texas chain’s second Northeast Ohio location. The retailer has 12 stores in Ohio and 198 around the country.

The location at 4932 Portage St. NW was home to several smaller shops and restaurants. DeVille Developments, which owns the plaza, demolished part of the structure and expanded.

The At Home store is in the center of plaza. Pet Supplies Plus — an original tenant in the plaza — remains but moved to a 7,500-square-foot addition on the west end. Salon Lofts remains in its space on the plaza’s east end.

At Home offers more than 50,000 items in what it describes as a home decor superstore. The list include furniture, mirrors, rugs, art and housewares, as well as outdoor and season decor.

The chain strives to have the widest selection of home decor items, store Director Chris Gonidakis said in a statement announcing the opening.

“We welcome everyone to come in, explore our newest store and find endless decorating possibilities for every room in your home for your budget,” he said.

An open house is scheduled for July 20 starting at 9 a.m., and includes gift card giveaways for the first 50 customers who sign up for AT Home Insider Perks.

Lee Bird, chairman and chief executive officer for At Home, said the chain is excited to open its second Northeast Ohio location.

“Our vast selection of on-trend styles is winning over home decor customers who want it all: value, variety and an inspiring, hands-on shopping experience,” Bird said in the press release.
