The two candidates for Akron mayor – Democratic incumbent Dan Horrigan and Republican challenger Josh Sines – have agreed to meet for an Oct. 16 debate presented by the Akron Press Club at the University of Akron’s Quaker Station, 135 South Broadway.
The debate is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Akron Area and the University of Akron’s Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics.
Free seats are available for those who which to attend the debate but not pay for a lunch. Reservations are requested for these seats. Lunch cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
No campaigning will be permitted in the debate room, including but not limited to signs, T-shirts or other printed material.
Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:15 and the program will begin at 11:55 a.m.
