He had not reinstated his driver's license and, worse yet, he was driving drunk with a child in the front seat, deputies say.
PLAIN TWP. Stark County Sheriff's deputies say a township man was not only driving with nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, he also had a 9-year-old child in the car.
Deputies arrested the 43-year-old Forestview Street NE man in the 5500 block of Middlebranch Avenue NE just before 5 p.m. Sunday. (The Canton Repository does not typically name misdemeanor crime suspects.) The child was in the front passenger seat.
The man's blood alcohol content was .226 percent, well above the .08 percent limit established by state law.
He also had no valid driver's license.
The man was jailed on charges of OVI, endangering children, failure to reinstate his license and a marked-lanes violation.
He remained in jail Monday, held in lieu of $4,000 bond pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
