Masthead IPA took home the Best of Show honors Friday night at the Cleveland Oktoberfest Microbrew Competition.
The beer, made by Cleveland's Masthead Brewing, bested fellow Cleveland brewery Noble Beast's Oktoberfest for the top award in the final tasting.
The annual competition takes place as part of the Oktoberfest celebration, held at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Middleburg Heights. The Oktoberfest continues through Monday.
The competition honors German-style beers and non-German brews (Best of the Rest), with the best of each category squaring off in the Best of Show round. I was honored to serve as one of the judges.
