A 19-year-old man wanted in connection with two separate shootings in Akron was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Alijah Beard of Akron was taken into custody by Akron police and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at about 3:30 p.m. in 1100 block of Tarson Terrace. He had two warrants for his arrest.

Beard is accused of getting into a confrontation Aug. 29 with occupants of another vehicle and firing shots as the vehicle drove away. He also is accused of a robbery Sept. 2, with the victim being shot in the leg.

He is charged with three counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated burglary.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Akron Municipal Court.
