High school football fans might want to check with their schools to see if they need to head to the stands early tonight.

Some area school districts are moving up the kickoff for Friday night football to try to get games in before predicted thunderstorms.

Barberton has moved the start time for the Magics' home game against Cuyahoga Falls to 6 p.m. from the previously scheduled 7 p.m. Stow-Munroe Falls High School also is starting its home game against Solon half an hour early at 6:30 p.m., and Brunswick moved up its home game against Cleveland James F. Rhodes to 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service says strong to severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and isolated tornado threats are possible this afternoon and evening across northern Ohio.
