Five Vikings found their way into the box score as Hoover blanked host Louisville in a nonconference match.

Cole VanNatta, Nick Mullaly and Jonathan Hughes each scored a goal for Hoover (10-2).

Josh Ray and Mike Schoeppner added one assist apiece.

Zach Fowler turned away the lone shot from the Leopards (3-5-2) to preserve the shutout.

GlenOak 2, Lake 0

First-half goals from Bryce Sickafoose and Kyle Ryter were all the Golden Eagles needed in a shutout of the Blue Streaks for a Federal League road win.

Dean Sarris tacked on an assist for GlenOak (6-3-3, 3-1).

Ryan Riccillo earned the clean sheet in goal by saving eight shots from Lake (7-4-2, 2-2-1).

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Norton 2, Streetsboro 1

Senior captain and outside midfielder Sam Jagger finished a chance off a corner kick from Alaina Davis to help push the Panthers past the visiting Rockets in a PTC-Metro match.

Junior forward Allison Spears beat two defenders and scored from 20 yards out just 29 seconds into the game to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead they carried into halftime.

Just after the break, Emma Flick beat the keeper to tie it for Streetsboro (7-2-3, 3-1-1).

Jagger's heroics came with 25 minutes remaining and Norton (7-2-2, 3-2) goalie Bryana Housley made the lead hold-up to earn the win. Housley finished with eight saves.

Revere 2, Aurora 0

Julia Effinger and Anna Clark each found the back of the net to lift the Minutemen above .500 for the year overall and in the Suburban League.

Adison Novosel tallied an assist for Revere (4-3-4, 2-1-2).
