Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was voted the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 21-17 comeback win over the New York Jets on "Thursday Night Football."

After quarterback Tyrod Taylor suffered a concussion, Mayfield entered the game with 1:42 left in the second quarter and the Browns trailing 14-0. He helped the offense score four times in his six drives, finishing his NFL regular-season debut 17-of-23 passing (73.9 percent) for 201 yards with a rating of 100.1.

The No. 1 overall draft pick, Mayfield received more votes than Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley, New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson.

This is the second time a Browns rookie has been voted rookie of the week this season. Cornerback Denzel Ward, the fourth overall pick, received the award in Week 1.
