The Golden Flashes led wire-to-wire in a 77-48 victory over visiting Slippery Rock in an exhibition game Sunday. Asiah Dingle scored 21 points, and Ali Poole added 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. The Golden Flashes scored the first nine points of the game and led 39-24 at the half.

Kent State opens the regular season Friday at North Carolina.

AKRON MEN'S SOCCER

Fresh off a no-contest game against Western Michigan after a campus-wide power outage Saturday night, the University of Akron is the No. 4 seed and will host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 4 p.m. Tuesday in a Mid-American Conference tournament first-round match.

The winner will advance to the semifinal round to play at top-seeded West Virginia on Friday.

Season ticket holders who do not claim a complimentary ticket for Tuesday's match can receive a 10-percent ticket value credit toward their 2019 season ticket purchase.
