Three of the NFL's best defensive players, Bobby Wagner, Jadeveon Clowney and Chandler Jones, have been fined $20,054 each by the league for hits in last week's games.

Clowney and Chandler were docked for roughing-the-passer calls, while Wagner was penalized for a facemask penalty.

Those were not the largest fines announced by the league Saturday.

Seattle cornerback Justin Coleman's unnecessary roughness penalty against San Francisco cost him $26,739.

New Orleans rookie DE Marcus Davenport was fined $20,054 for roughing the passer against Carolina.

Docked $10,026 for unnecessary roughness were Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and running back Kenneth Dixon; Broncos cornerback Jamar Taylor; Rams cornerback Marcus Peters; and Panthers guard Andrus Peat.

On Friday, Panthers safety Eric Reid said he was fined a fourth time this season by the NFL for an illegal hit — this time one that didn't draw a flag — in the loss to the Saints. He was fined $20,054.

Lions moves

The Detroit Lions have put wide receiver Bruce Ellington and safety Charles Washington on injured reserve with hamstring injuries.

The Lions also announced Saturday that they have signed receiver Chris Lacy and cornerback Dee Virgin to the active roster from the practice squad, and signed receiver Deontez Alexander to the practice squad.

Detroit hosts Minnesota on Sunday.

Eligible to play

The New Orleans Saints have placed receiver Ted Ginn Jr. on their active roster, making him eligible to play when New Orleans hosts Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Ginn returned to practice this week for the first time since being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 18 because of a knee injury repaired by arthroscopic surgery.

Under NFL rules, teams may bring two players back to the active roster after they have spent at least eight weeks on injured reserve. Ginn is the second such player for New Orleans, which also activated receiver Tommylee Lewis from IR a month ago.

Jaguars moves

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed right tackle Jermey Parnell and safety Ronnie Harrison on injured reserve and promoted cornerback Breon Borders and offensive lineman Brandon Thomas from the practice squad.

Both starters were ruled out Friday for Sunday's game at Miami. Place-kicker Josh Lambo (groin) and receiver DJ Chark (quadriceps) also were ruled out.
