St. Vincent-St. Mary 64, Walsh Jesuit 45

Freshman Lanae Riley dominated on the interior and scored a career-high 22 points to help the Fighting Irish earn a road win over the Warriors.

Riley converted all 10 of her field goals from inside the 3-point arc and added two free-throws to account for all her points.

The Irish (9-6) gained control early and held a 39-25 advantage at halftime.

Sophia Williams added 17 points for St. V-M.

Sloane Sapp was the lone Warrior (7-8) to reach double figures, scoring 14 points, including two 3-pointers.

 

Stow 67, Rocky River Magnificat 38

Four Bulldogs earned double digit-points as the balanced scoring of Stow helped it cruise to another nonconference win on the road.

Emily Andrassy and Lexi Petit combined for nearly half of Stow's points as the duo netted 30 points. Andrassy had a game-high 17 points, and Petit drilled three 3-pointers on her way to 13 points.

Lilee Carlson and Kira Philpot each chipped in 10 apiece.

 

WRESTLING

Top Gun Tournament

Aurora won the overall team title, and St. Vincent-St. Mary took second place at the Top Gun Tournament at Alliance High School.

Nordonia was the only other local school to finish in the top 10 as it placed eighth overall.

Helping immensely for Aurora's point totals were Dylan Fishback and Jack Gorman.

Fishback claimed the title in the 152-pound weight class and Gorman, a Cleveland State commit, was the runner-up at 132 pounds.

Kenneth Crosby and Dierre Clayton captured championships at 106 pounds and 113 pounds, respectively, to help St. V-M.

Nordonia's lone champion was Javion Jones, who beat Gorman at 132 pounds.
