The University of Akron captured nine first-place finishes to earn a Mid-American Conference victory at home in the Ocasek Natatorium.

The 400 medley relay team of Morgan Waggoner, Paula Garcia, Paulina Nogaj and Ragen Engel began the dual with a victory in 3:46.69.

Senior Emma King took first in the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall in 10:22.59.

Promising freshman Sarah Watson won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.56.

Akron Invitational

Senior Abigale Wilson earned the women's discus title to help UA open its own invitational with a win on day one at the Stile Athletics Field House.

Wilson took first place with a mark of 168 feet, 7 inches. The winning throw was her second throw of the evening and helped beat out 11 other competitors.

In the men's discus, redshirt sophomore Jonathan Neeley placed sixth with a throw of 145-9.
