The Zips escaped with another narrow victory, their seventh in a row to start the season.

The 7-0 start is the best for the program since the 2013 season. The school record is a 15-0 start in 2009.

Rita Pedroso won her singles match and took a victory in doubles with partner Miruna Vasilescu.

Sophia Geier also stood out by winning at No. 1 singles and capturing a doubles win with Anna Uljanov.

Akron Invitational

University of Akron senior Jordan Latimer broke his own school record in the men's long jump to lead the way on the final day of the Akron Invitational.

Latimer jumped 26-¼, the sixth-best mark in the country this season.

Also joining the nation's elite was junior Lucy Bryan, who surpassed her personal-best mark by clearing 14-4½ in the women's pole vault for the sixth-highest vault in the NCAA this year.

Kent State junior Christian Champen broke the school's indoor record in the men's pole vault, clearing 17-5¾.
