KSU women third after one round

The Kent State women's golf team opened its spring season Sunday, finishing the first of three rounds at the University of Central Florida Challenge in third place. The Golden Flashes, behind Karoline Stormo's 4-under 68, are third in the 16-team field at 7 under par. First-place College of Charleston is 9 under and the University of Miami is second at 8 under on the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

Stormo is in a 7-way tie for first individually. Pimnipa Panthong and Thitapa Pakdeesettakul also broke par for the Flashes with a 70 and 71, respectively. Michaela Finn shot an even-par 72 for Kent.
