GOODYEAR, ARIZ.— The most closely-watched calf muscle in Arizona is still progressing.

That one belongs to Indians star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is still progressing from a strained calf he sustained just prior to camp. His Opening Day status is still unknown.

Indians manager Terry Francona on Tuesday said that Lindor played 4-5 innings in a minor-league game and is continuing to ramp up his intensity. Francona added that Lindor ran at “almost, pretty much” full speed.

“He’s doing really well,” Francona said. “This weekend, he’ll probably run the bases full out like a normal person.”

Jason Kipnis, who has been dealing with calf tightness, also received 7-8 at-bats on the minor-league side, according to Francona.
