MINNEAPOLIS — Hanley Ramirez is now, officially, a member of the Indians.

Ramirez was added to the 40-man and active rosters on Thursday before the Indians' Opening Day game against the Minnesota Twins. Ramirez came into camp as a non-roster invitee. Late in camp, he came through with a two-home run game in which his bat speed finally translated to the field.

Ramirez's spot on the active roster was made available by the Indians officially placing Jason Kipnis on the injured list. To make room on the 40-man roster, reliever Ben Taylor was designated for assignment.

Taylor allowed four runs in six innings last year with the Indians.
