Junior pitcher Micah Smith threw a complete game and struck out 10 to help lead the Fighting Irish to a nonconference road win on Tuesday evening.
Smith allowed just two hits and three runs, only one of which was earned, improving his record to 2-1 this season.
Leading St. V-M (5-4) at the plate were Andrew Morse and Mason Stams. They both singled twice. Morse scored twice and had an RBI and Stams collected three RBI.
Green 2, North Canton Hoover 1
The Bulldogs pushed across a run in the top of the sixth to escape with a Federal League road win Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Alex Casper did it all for Green (7-3, 2-2), tossing a complete game on the mound and helping himself at the plate with a double in the first inning. The double kept the inning alive and helped score an early run.
Casper allowed three hits and no earned runs to keep his record perfect at 3-0.
Norton 13, Ravenna 3
Kaitlyn Cowx ripped her second home run of the season and drove in four runs to help the Panthers knock off visiting Ravenna in six innings.
Cowx also slapped a two-run single for Norton (5-2, 5-1). Teammate Lexi Gable doubled and scored a run.
Supplying the offense for Ravenna (2-5, 0-4) was Emily Starkey, who drilled a two-run triple in the first inning.
