RubberDucks 5, Thunder 2

It can’t rain all the time.

The RubberDucks finally snapped out of it and ended their seven-game homestand with a 5-2 win over the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday.

Andruw Monasterio scored on a two-out error in the fourth to give the Ducks (1-6) the lead and Mitch Longo followed with an RBI single to add an insurance run. Longo finished 3-for-5.

Jake Paulson (1-0) picked up the win. The right-hander gave up two earned runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

The Ducks travel to Altoona for an Eastern League Western Division showdown with the Curve at 6 p.m. Thursday. The Ducks haven’t named a starting pitcher. Cam Vieaux (0-0, 0.00) will go for the Curve.
