Hudson 3, Twinsburg 1

In battle of unbeatens, four pitchers helped Hudson improve to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the Suburban League National Conference with a victory over Twinsburg (8-1, 5-1) on Thursday.

Starter Sylvan Wiley (2-0) allowed just two hits and an unearned run. Bryce McClure, Aiden Samuel and Joe Whitman each threw an inning of scoreless relief, and Whitman was credited with his third save.

Norton 6, Streetsboro 3

Senior Clay Crawford led the way at the plate and on the mound as the Panthers remained unbeaten with a Portage Trail Conference win. Crawford struck out a career-high 10 batters and added three hits, an RBI and a run scored run for Norton (7-0, 5-0).

Tallmadge 6, Highland 1

Todd Bangston (3-0) pitched a complete-game four-hitter with six strikeouts in a Suburban League American Conference win for the Blue Devils (7-1, 4-0).

 

SOFTBALL

Wadsworth 9, Stow 0

Eight of Wadsworth's nine runs came after two outs as the Grizzlies improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the Suburban League. Emma Spoerke had five RBI and missed hitting for the cycle by a triple.

Field 4, Springfield 0

Alexsa Hurd did it all for the Falcons (10-2, 5-0) in a PTC Metro game, improving to 8-1 on the mound with a one-hit shutout and hitting a home run, double and single at the plate.

 

TENNIS

Cloverleaf 3, Tallmadge 2

George Gillespie's 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles highlighted the Colts' singles sweep of Tallmadge. The teams of Aaron Andrea and Joe Williamson and Parker Ramp and Carson Cowley each won their doubles matches for Tallmadge's two points.

Green 5, GlenOak 0

The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 in the Federal League as Logan Langovsky at No. 1 singles and Dylan Westmeyer at No. 3 won their 10th matches of the season.
